FAQ's

If you've never seen or tried a Chocolate Fountain before, you're sure to have some questions. Here are some of the ones we're often asked - and if you have any others, please contact us at chocolat-e-clougher@hotmail.co.uk.

Can we use any chocolate?
Yes. Any quality chocolate - one with a cocoa butter content of 33% or more - can work well.

What type of chocolate do you recommend?
The chocolate we supply has been specially blended for use in our Fountains so you can be sure of great taste and great cascading effects - first time and every time.

Can the chocolate be re-used?
Because fragments of dipping foods are likely to get left in the chocolate, it's best to discard it when you've finished your meal or event.

How long can the Chocolate Fountain run for?
Our Table Fountains are designed to run for up to 3 hours - perfect for a party or celebratory dinner. Our Commercial Fountains can run for up to 24 hours - giving you the potential to serve your customers and guests for hour after hour.

Can I use something other than chocolate in the Fountain?
Of course! You can try both sweet and savoury sauces of a thin consistency. For example, what about a warm fruit coulis with fruit or biscuit dips? Or a cheese, barbecue or sweet chilli sauce with cooked cubes of pork, seafood, beef or chicken, raw or cooked vegetables or bread pieces?

What is an Auger?
The Auger is a screw type that carries the warm chocolate from the basin to the top crown through a cylinder. The advantage over a pump is it eliminates the possibility of clogging and reduces clean up time.

How much does the Chocolate Fountain weigh?
The home fountain weighs approximately 5 kg, the small CF1500 weighs approximately 23 kg and the medium/large CF2000 approximately 49 kg.

Is the chocolate Gluten and Nut Free
Yes the chocolate is gluten and nut free, however it is manufactured in a factory that packages other consumable produce which can contain gluten and nuts.

Does the running time include setup and dismantle of the fountain
No the running time does not include setup and dismantle.  The fountain will be ready for use by you and your guests at the time specified by yourselves and will run the full rental period.

Can I do a Vicar of Dibley
As much as we would love to see that, it is not hygienic and therefore not adviseable.
